Marketing Trends for Manufacturers

P.E.S.T.L.E.(Political, Economic, Sociological, Technological, Legal, Environmental) Analysis is used by many marketers to understand outside influences like Marketing Trends and how they apply to the marketing of the organization’s products and/or services. The above video outlines the top marketing trends expected in 2014.

While I love this type of informative video, I can’t help but point out that it only covers a small portion of the possible and probable influences on our marketing that are represented by the letters in PESTLE.

As we look at 2014, the mid-term elections will most certainly have an affect on marketing costs and possibly the economy following the election.

Another huge influence will be employment numbers.

3D printing and hydraulic fracturing are technologies that are and will influence the future we face.

Marketing Trends are critically important to our marketing plans, but they need to be expanded to recognize all of the potential influences outlined in PESTLE.

Every month it seems like we are facing new regulations and selectively enforced laws. These factors and the uncertainty they create will also be huge factors in our future.

We all recognize that the Environmental Protection Agency has greatly influenced our lives and will most likely continue to influence  us going forward.
