New Book Positions Decision-Making
as Competitive Advantage!
Cleveland, OH: In his new book, “Taking Aim for Better Decision-Making,”
Robert Cannon points out that decision-making is a serious
and growing problem. Research at Ohio State shows that, “decisions
fail half of the time.” This is a huge problem for business
and it is even more challenging in today’s environment of
speed, information overload, uncertainty and change. Cannon
examines the traditional decision-making process and the reasons
why it is not producing better results. He also provides an
alternative approach that fosters greater commitment to the
decision and facilitates smoother, faster implementation and
improved results.
“Bob Cannon has captured the essence of leadership in this
special book. The best piece of advice I can give you is to
devour this book. Buy one for each of your managers, and use
it to spark ideas, and discussions” said Mark LeBlanc, Author
of “Growing Your Business”.

Bob Cannon launches www.marketingnewproduct.com
to help inventors, manufacturers, marketers and importers
access the $200+ billion U.S. Hardware Market. “There are
a number of websites out there offering to help inventors
market their products,” said Cannon, “but we are the only
site that is targeted specifically to the U.S. Hardware /
Hardlines Market.”
Cannon is a successful Hardware Executive who left the corporate
world in 2001 to start Cannon Advantage, a consulting business.
Early this year he was analyzing his business and realized
that 80% of his work had been focused on helping evaluate
and bring new products to the Hardware / Hardlines Market.
That is when he decided to build a website specifically focused
to this target audience.
The new site features an audio introduction to Cannon and
his approach, testimonials, resources for people interested
in introducing new products and a free course on new product
marketing in addition to Bob’s consulting services.
Cannon is also speaking to inventors groups in Northeastern
Ohio and Western Pennsylvania to help them better understand
what is involved in marketing new products to the Hardware
Market.
If you would be interested in having Bob speak to your group
or answer your individual questions, he can be reached toll

Chagrin Falls Ohio, February
8, 2005
The Cannon Advantage website introduces the new Momentum
Model Diagnostic as part of major changes to
the site. The website for visionary leaders and business decision-makers
focuses on helping organizations achieve a competitive advantage.
The Momentum Model is the latest addition to a broad offering
of information and tools available on the site. The Model
consists of 16 commonly heard phrases in manufacturing organizations.
The interactive technology on the site provides immediate
feedback to the person taking the diagnostic and outlines
in which phase of the Momentum Model the organization is functioning.
It lists some things that are most likely going on in the
organization at the time and some things to think about.
In addition to providing immediate response to individuals, the Diagnostic also has capabilities for entire organizations. This information
requires some behind the scene collation and can be made available by scheduling a review with Bob Cannon, owner of Cannon Advantage.
Other changes to the website include repositioning of the Decision-Making page
and the inclusion of an article search function on that page. A new home page has also been
developed that again focuses on helping visionary leaders and business decision-makers understand and respond to changing needs and
marketplaces. It includes explanations for the three main reasons why organizations fail to adapt including: The Why Gap – not
realizing Why they need to change; The How Gap – not understanding How to change; and the Knowing-Doing Gap – understanding
Why and How but for whatever reason, being unable to make the change themselves.
More resources have also been added for Meeting Planners to help them have the
information they need about Speaker Services from Cannon Advantage.
The ever growing library of resource articles in the free newsletter “Taking Aim”
has now been syndicated using RSS and XML technology. Distributed through news channel feeds worldwide, our information is available
in real time to a much larger audience.
This latest website update represents the third major renovation in three years in an effort to better serve the needs of the market
for the holistic management consulting and speaking services company. Cannon Advantage helps visionary leaders and business decision-makers
with better decisions faster, facilitating increased revenues, market share and profitability.
Bob can be reached at 866-598-8450, aim@cannonadvantage.com, or the firm's website, www.cannonadvantage.com.

Cannon earns certificate from Weatherhead School
CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio, October 23, 2003
Robert E. Cannon of Cannon Advantage in
Chagrin Falls received a certificate from
the Weatherhead School of Management at
Case Western Reserve University for completion
of the “Appreciative Inquiry : Igniting
Positive Change In Business & Society
2003.” Cannon joined with students from
all over the world in the second class
of students being certified in the Appreciative
Inquiry Process under the tutelage of
Professors David Cooperrider and Ron Fry.
The Process is a unique new way to look
at organizations, appreciating what they
are and have accomplished while inquiring
in an effort to construct the future.
Previous practices have included looking
at organizations as problems to be solved.
This deficit-based approach has not always
proven successful.
Organizations experiencing positive results
from this process include, Roadway, John
Deere, Green Mountain Coffee, The U.S.
Navy, The United Religions Initiative
and many others.
During his coursework, Bob conducted interviews
as part of the efforts around Business
as an Agent of World Benefit and was drawn
to using Appreciative Inquiry in the Decision-Making
Process. He is continuing his research
on the subject and is currently working
with Paul C. Nutt, Professor at Ohio State
University and author of the book, “Why
Decisions Fail.” Cannon’s continuing research
has resulted in a paper entitled, “<
One Sigma Decisions in a Six Sigma World”
which was recently published by the World
Business Academy.

Cannon Attracts National and International
Clients
Credits New Growth to Recent Marketing
Efforts
CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio, November 19, 2002
- The Cannon Advantage, a management consulting
firm specializing in strategic thinking
and business development, is attracting
national and international clients. The
Cannon Advantage attributes recent growth
in clients to its new identity and website.
"With today's electronic communications,
it is relatively easy to do business with
clients in other states and other countries,"
says Robert E. Cannon, principal of Cannon
Advantage of Chagrin Falls, a Cleveland
suburb. Cannon usually communicates with
his out-of-town clients electronically
- mostly via e-mail and occasionally by
phone.
One of Cannon's out-of-state clients is
an Internet startup company - www.factorestore.com
- located in Charleston, SC. The company
is attempting to change the way products
are acquired by taking costs out of the
channel of distribution, becoming the
conduit between retailers and hardware
manufacturers. Cannon has been involved
with the startup for more than a year,
helping set up the intricacies of the
website, develop descriptions and pricing
of products, locate manufacturers as clients
and find retailers. According to Mike
Murray, chief operating officer of factorestore.com,
"Bob has opened a lot of doors for
us with his reputation."
A new Cannon client is Peer Industries,
a forging and machining facility located
in Lithuania. Although the company's owners
knew of Cannon before, they started working
with him as a result of receiving his
newsletter.
Cannon worked with Kim Zarney, principal
of Zarney Creative in Beachwood, to craft
The Cannon Advantage name, identity and
visual positioning. Zarney also designed
Cannon's newsletter and the front end
of his new website - www.cannonadvantage.com.
Kurt Roscoe of Kurt Roscoe Communications
Design developed the back end of the website.
Cannon started Cannon Advantage in February
2001 after achieving many successes in
a 30-year career serving such firms as
Meritool, Channellock, Inc., Tencon Division
of Gannett and Wheel Goods Division of
AMF. He has helped many companies grow
their business, secure employees' jobs
and increase the owners' profitability.
Cannon is skilled at involving employees
in company growth. While serving as vice
president of sales and marketing for Channellock,
he was responsible for doubling the company's
unit volume over a 10-year period, primarily
through employee involvement.
"In today's turbulent economy with
so much downsizing and cutting back,"
Cannon says, "many companies no longer
have the resources to help them move to
the next level. Knowing how to position
a company - particularly hardware companies
- is my specialty."
The Cannon Advantage, a management consulting firm specializing
in strategic thinking and business development, is located
in Burton, Ohio.
